Meon Valley Food bank

Picture3

Meon Valley Food Bank is a church led community focused project enabling the community to practically support local people who are at crisis point with the provision of food.  We serve the Meon Valley area of Hampshire, including Bishop’s Waltham, Wickham, Droxford, West Meon, and other villages in the area.  Our passion is to reflect the love and grace of Jesus through the provision of food to people who are really struggling to get by.

We run a voucher referral system and have many local referral agencies on board, including CAB, Children’s Centres, Schools, job centres in Fareham, Eastleigh and Winchester, local surgeries, Meon Valley Home Start and more.  All referrals are kept confidential.

Those in need may have up to four vouchers a year. We are however happy to help if more is needed but the agency must let us know. To give you an idea, a family of four will need about 12 shopping bags of food to help them through a week. That’s a lot of tins.

Support comes with a mix of tins, packets and boxed food kindly donated by local churches (we now have 20 local churches supporting us), the Bishop’s Waltham Youth Club, Bishop’s Waltham Rotary Club, individuals, Budgens and the Southern Co-operative, Wickham.
