Pastoral care

We offer Christian love, support and encouragement to all ages of St. Peter’s church family, enabling people to explore their faith and relationship with God through the life of our church.

We welcome newcomers, are hospitable with each other and engage with our community.

Home Groups and social activities help us to get to know each other. Our social activities include:

  • Coffee and Cookies fortnightly and celebrations of special occasions after the Thursday communion service
  • Monthly Sunday pub lunches
  • Church hall lunches (to which members of our community are welcome)
  • Annual Leisure Days for older residents
  • Welcome events
  • Whole parish celebrations

Many of us have times in our lives when we need extra support, care, help and encouragement because we face loneliness, illness, bereavement, or a relationship difficulty.

Practical and spiritual help and friendship can be offered. We have members of our congregation who are willing to visit, listen to (in confidence) and pray with you if you have any sort of need, and a twice-yearly Time to Remember Service for bereaved families is held.

Monthly Home Communions are offered for those who are housebound.

Practical help can also be provided, for example meals in times of crisis, as well as transport to church and events.
